Today, we dive more into the governor’s recommendations, focusing on IT funding for the Department of Transportation, the Department of Health, the Department of Corrections, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Commerce.
TRANSPORTATION
DeSantis recommended $64.7 million for IT for the Florida Department of Transportation, coming in short of the agency’s $86.1 million request.
Specific recommendations for the agency include:
- $5.1 million for data infrastructure modernization
- $607,320 for a security risk management program
- $384,000 for secure access platform management
HEALTH
DeSantis recommended $57.8 million for the Florida Department of Health, coming in short of the agency’s $63.2 million request.
Specific recommendations for the agency include $16.1 million for an information technology security modernization and resiliency initiative.
CORRECTIONS
DeSantis recommended $55.8 million for the Florida Department of Corrections, coming in short of the agency’s $94.6 million request.
Specific recommendations for the agency include:
- $10 million for applications as part of its technology restoration plan
- $5 million for offender-based information technology modernization
- $2.3 million for a statewide agency service increase
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
DeSantis recommended $27.2 million for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, just shy of its $27.8 million request.
Specific recommendations for the agency include $2.9 million for an electronic document management system.
COMMERCE
DeSantis recommended $23.9 million for the Florida Department of Commerce, coming in a little short of the agency’s $24.6 million request.
Specific recommendations for the agency include $2 million for cybersecurity and $1.5 million for additional funding to support departmentwide IT needs.
