Ag Department Issues Invitation to Bid for Communication System Analyzers

The state’s agriculture department is seeking competitive bids from vendors to purchase and deliver two communication system analyzers that offer several display modes, including a tracking generator, audio synthesizer and frequency counter.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has issued an invitation to bid (ITB) for vendors to purchase and deliver two communication system analyzers.

According to the ITB, a communication system analyzer is an “electronic and communication measuring and testing instrument” that can be used to evaluate new technologies and equipment, perform radio frequency tests and predict communication metrics.

To qualify, each unit must have the following display modes: a tracking generator, sweep generator, duplex generator, AM/FM generator, oscilloscope, audio synthesizer, frequency counter, SINAD (signal-to-noise and distortion ratio) and distortion meter, spectrum analyzer, digital voltmeter, frequency error and watt.

Other required operations and accessories include:

  • A manufacturer-approved, BK KNG Series auto-test and align feature and option 
  • Antenna with connector for off-the-air monitoring 
  • A self-contained rechargeable battery 
  • A balanced to unbalanced audio adapter 
  • A 120 VAC 60 Hz alternating current power cord 

Also noted in the ITB are the following important dates and deadlines:

  • Aug. 26: The deadline for sealed bids is 5 p.m.  
  • Aug. 27: A public meeting regarding the bid will occur at 11 a.m. 
  • Aug. 30: Recommended awards will be posted
