Alachua County Recruiting for Elections IT Director

The position will oversee all technology-related initiatives within the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office and manage its overall IT infrastructure.

Alachua County, which encompasses the city of Gainesville, is looking to hire a director of information technology for its Supervisor of Elections Office.

According to the job posting, “an employee assigned to this classification manages the IT infrastructure, ensures the security and integrity of election data, provides technical support and implements new technologies for all areas within the elections office.”

Additional job responsibilities include:
  • Managing and providing hardware and software support for election technologies and ensuring that all IT systems are functioning optimally 
  • Directing and coordinating IT project management workflows
  • Managing the public records request process, along with preparing reports and data for public records requests 
  • Supporting election technologies, including device support such as the operation and maintenance of printers and scanners 
  • Ensuring that all security protocols are maintained, including supporting internal security reviews and coordinating external audits 
Minimum requirements for the role include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a directly related field.
