Board of Governors Recruiting for Systems Project Consultant

The State University System of Florida Board of Governors is hiring a systems project consultant to work in the Information Technology and Security (ITS) department within the application development team in Tallahassee.

According to the job posting, the position will focus on web-based applications using Oracle Database and Oracle Application Express (APEX) within the ITS team.

The ITS website says the department aims to “develop secure custom computer applications that provide for the implementation of effective and efficient business processes.”

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop and implement software solutions following board standards
  • Collaborate with business analysts to define requirements and enhance applications
  • Use Oracle functions and PL/SQL for performance tuning
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot production issues
  • Document applications and database objects
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or associate’s degree with seven years of experience; or high school diploma with 10 years of experience
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Oracle certifications: entry-level for one year of credit, advanced for two years
  • Required experience with SQL and PL/SQL; knowledge of application development life cycle
  • Familiarity with relational databases and Oracle APEX is a plus
