According to the ITN, the chosen vendor will be responsible for ensuring 911 operations comply with Federal Communications Commission and state regulations, including providing information required for public safety answering point (PSAP) and designing an efficient call flow plan for a self-operated PSAP to enhance smart 911 operation and eliminate routing through Orange County.
Other vendor responsibilities include:
- Implementing new diverse session initiation protocol (SIP) connections to Osceola County 911
- Replacing current central automatic message accounting connections to Orange County 911 with diverse SIP connections
- Rerouting all wireless and VoIP calls originating within the district to Reedy Creek Fire Department’s public safety answering point
- Modifying the current routing via Orange County 911 tandem to make Reedy Creek Fire Department’s PSAP the primary PSAP for all wireless and VoIP calls
- Engaging with the relevant regulatory bodies and providing the required documentation and data to meet all compliance standards
