Citrus County, which encompasses cities such as Crystal River, Homosassa and Inverness, is seeking vendor proposals from highly experienced professional SharePoint consulting contractors.

According to a request for proposals (RFP) from the county, the contractors would “assist with the configuration and migration of Citrus County’s libraries’ (all five branches) existing on-premises Exchange Server to Exchange Online and the on-premises file server to SharePoint/Teams for our staff and computers.”

More specifically, the chosen vendor will install and configure the new solution, train information systems staff and provide staff support for the new system for one year.

Other requirements include installing and configuring Microsoft 365 (M365), migrating all servers and data from existing servers to the cloud, along with the following:
  • Providing M365 licensing for all staff users and computers
  • Setting up emails to interface with Barracuda for email spam filtering and archiving
  • Migrating all file shares from the on-premises file server to Teams
  • Configuring an intranet site on SharePoint
  • Configuring a data retention policy

According to the RFP, library system operations will experience minimal downtime, and any migration attempts must be performed during a scheduled window to minimize disturbances.

Also, the solicitation states, “The county is aware that there are multiple ways and tools to make the transition. We expect the implementation contractor to provide the recommendations that will be the best fit for the county’s needs.”

More information about RFP 24-121 can be found online. The deadline to submit questions is 4 p.m. on July 17, and the deadline to submit proposals is 2 p.m. on July 25.
