Commerce Department Leads State in Consulting Contract Spending

For a closer look at state agency spending on a single contract, here are the top five departments with the highest expenditures for Fiscal Year 2023-24, along with their spending trends in the last four years.

The Department of Management Services (DMS) has released an update on expenditures for the Management Consulting Services State Term Contract for FY 2020–2024, including details by fiscal year, state agencies and supplier companies.

The DMS notice details spending on the Management Consulting Services State Term Contract, covering IT consultation, project management, risk management and many more services for all state agencies, with a breakdown of contracts for FY 2020-24.

For FY 2023-24, the top five agencies with the highest expenditures on management consulting services were:
  • Department of Commerce: $76,125,731
  • Department of Health: $23,388,462
  • Department of Financial Services: $11,893,668
  • Department of Management Services: $5,845,866
  • Department of Children and Families: $4,855,481
