DCF Recruiting IT Section Leader for AI Applications

The Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking an experienced AI enterprise applications supervisor to lead enterprise-level AI initiatives for its Office of Information Technology Services.

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is looking to hire an information technology section leader to join its Office of Information Technology Services.

To qualify for the position, the incumbent must have six or more years of experience managing technical teams and cross-functional groups, including AI engineers, data scientists and software developers.

The role’s duties include:
  • Supervising, mentoring and guiding a team of AI engineers to deliver high-impact AI solutions across the enterprise 
  • Leading end-to-end life cycles of AI and machine learning (ML) models, including design, development, training, deployment, monitoring and optimization using tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure OpenAI, AWS, Hugging Face and other emerging platforms 
  • Researching, evaluating and recommending new and emerging AI tools and technologies
  • Identifying opportunities for AI applications and leading the development of fit-for-purpose solutions that improve efficiency, decision-making and service delivery 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand enterprise requirements and ensure AI systems are securely integrated with existing platforms using APIs, real-time data flows and MLOps frameworks
