The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is recruiting a database consultant to join its Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS).

According to the job posting, “this position is responsible for professional and high-level technical oversight and management for planning, designing, modeling, monitoring, testing, operating and maintaining database management systems.

“These database systems are managed in the ORACLE EE Oracle Linux RDBMS environment on-premises and in the DEP Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) tenancy,” the job posting states.

Specific job duties for the role include:
  • Establishing and maintaining databases used for development, testing, production, data warehousing and public access 
  • Monitoring and reviewing the department’s database systems to ensure efficiency, integrity and security operations and to eliminate problems related to hardware, software and procedural errors
