Department of Financial Services Hiring Computer and Information Systems Manager

The Florida Department of Financial Services is seeking to hire a computer and information systems manager in Tallahassee.

The candidate would oversee and support the installation, testing, implementation and maintenance of operating systems, data communications and related software for Unix, Open Systems, enterprise job scheduling and storage.

The position also involves planning for Unix, Linux and storage systems, determining budget needs and serving as a contract administrator for related projects.

Specific job duties include:
  • Knowledge of NetApp storage solutions, including ONTAP, FAS, AFF series and related software
  • Familiarity with storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI and Fiber Channel, as well as SAN/NAS architectures, storage virtualization and data replication technologies
  • Understanding of data protection and information management strategies, including backup and recovery, cloud data management and data security
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles, including ensuring the recovery or continuation of essential technology infrastructure and systems
  • Background in storage management systems for performance, capacity, health monitoring and reporting

Minimum requirements for the role include four years of experience in computer science or IT. A bachelor’s degree in these fields can substitute for the experience, or an associate degree plus two years of experience is acceptable.
