The Florida Department of Financial Services is looking to hire an applications development manager to lead and inspire its development team.

According to the job posting, the incumbent’s ability to strategize, execute and mentor will be instrumental in driving the department’s product road map forward.

Primary job responsibilities include delivering robust, scalable applications and overseeing application development life cycles from conceptualization to deployment.

Minimum requirements for the role include:
  • Seven or more years of software development experience, including three or more years of leadership experience, either managing small teams or taking the lead on projects 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming fundamentals 
  • Experience with relational databases 
  • Understanding of scripting languages 
  • Competency in client-side web development technology languages 
  • Experience with responsive design frameworks 

Regarding education, potential candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or business administration or an associate degree in one of the above fields plus two years of experience.
