Department of Financial Services Recruiting for Systems Programmer

The role entails evaluating, planning, deploying, configuring, maintaining and security hardening several systems, including Windows server operating systems and other visualization platforms.

The Florida Department of Financial Services is looking to hire a systems programmer III.

According to the job posting, “the person in this role will be responsible for ensuring system availability, security and performance by applying best practices for patch management, system monitoring and disaster recovery planning.”

They would also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, implementing security hardening measures, and collaborating with other teams to support IT projects.

Specific requirements for the role include:
  • Having four years of experience in computer science, software engineering, IT or another closely related field 
  • Experience using Windows server operating systems and server virtualization technologies such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V 
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 software as a service for online meetings and collaboration, online file storage, productivity applications, security and compliance features and identity management 
  • Fundamental knowledge of vulnerability scanning, event and traffic monitoring, incident response, remediation work and endpoint security toolset management for Windows operating system servers
  • Performing detailed data reporting analytics and transforming data into information to assist the department with business decisions
