Department of Management Services Recruiting for HRIS Director

The chosen candidate would oversee the department’s web-based human resource information system, which serves more than 1.2 million users.

The Florida Department of Management Services (DMS), which supports state agencies and current and former state employees with workforce and business-related functions, is looking to hire a director to oversee its People First web-based human resource information system.

The platform supports a public-facing job site and an enterprisewide suite of human resource and insurance benefits services.

As HRIS director, the chosen candidate would be responsible for developing and delivering a human resource information systems strategy. The candidate would also oversee daily service operations and performance of all platforms, lead a team of 16 employees and 102 contracted employees at the People First Service Center and manage an annual budget of more than $30 million.

Other on-the-job duties include:
  • Being responsible for the overall technical leadership in consulting, designing and implementing HR solutions that impact the enterprise 
  • Researching and evaluating innovative solutions and strategies related to human resource information systems 
  • Providing consultative and technical assistance to staff, management, state agencies and the public regarding the system’s functionality as it relates to state and federal laws, regulations, rules, best practices and collective bargaining agreements 
  • Developing partnerships with enterprise partners, DMS divisions and other entities to maximize resources needed to implement an effective human resource information system and services for the state 
  • Identifying, developing and delivering applicable human resource data analytics
