The Florida Department of Management Services is looking to hire a bureau chief of IT and special projects within its state purchasing division.

According to the job posting, the role oversees targets for savings and performance for IT and special project procurement. The candidate would also be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost for IT and special projects categories.

Other job responsibilities include:
  • Executing bureau procurements and managing daily procurement functions, pre-solicitation planning, solicitation strategy development, successful solicitation launches, executions and post-solicitation reviews 
  • Complying with departmental policies, requirements, operations and contract management standards 
  • Supervising the development and implementation of consistent processes and controls within the bureau and contributing to the execution of shared processes across the division 
  • Implementing procurement and contract management best practices and benchmarking  
  • Ensuring consistent and effective customer service provision and the quick and appropriate resolution of customer issues to maintain high levels of confidence in the division 

Minimum requirements for the role include an undergraduate degree, five years of procurement experience within the public or private sector, and management experience.
