Department of Revenue Recruiting for Senior IT Auditor

The incumbent in this position will independently perform or act as a lead auditor for IT audits, management reviews and other performance, financial and compliance audits.

The Florida Department of Revenue, which oversees the state’s child support program, general tax administration and property tax, is looking to hire a senior IT auditor.

According to the job posting, the incumbent will independently perform and act as the lead auditor on IT audits, management reviews, performance audits, and financial and compliance audits under the supervision of the audit director within the Office of Inspector General.

Additional job responsibilities include:
  • Directing junior internal audit section staff assigned to IT-related audits to ensure projects are well-managed, engagement objectives are achieved and staff skills are developed  
  • Conducting or assisting in engagements involving computerized systems  
  • Preparing and advising on programs used for testing IT files by internal auditors, as well as coordinating communication of audit requests between staff auditors and the department’s data processing section 
  • Assisting in the review of data conducted by management from IT systems to help assure data accuracy and appropriateness   
To qualify for the role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • At least four years of professional experience conducting internal or external audits per applicable professional standards  
  • Two years of work experience in IT or a similar field can substitute for one year of required audit experience  
  • Within the first year of employment, the incumbent must complete ISO 20000 engagement training
