The Department of Management Services (DMS) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for building automation systems services.

According to the RFP, the department currently has a contract to provide facility automated control systems (FACS) at department facilities throughout the state.

The FACS contract expires on April 14. The historic annual spending for FACS is approximately $100,000.

“Services encompass various tasks including hardware installation and configuration, programming, scheduled maintenance such as software updates, troubleshooting and repairs,” the RFP states.

Troubleshooting issues might include controller malfunctions, faulty sensors, glitches, integration challenges, security vulnerabilities and more.

The RFP will be managed through the Vendor Information Portal, and the department plans to award multiple respondents per region. However, the department has the discretion to award only one respondent per region, make a statewide award, or issue no award at all.

More information about DMS-24/25-176 can be found online. Vendor proposals are due by 1:30 p.m. on March 18.
