DOH Issues RFP for Multimodal Communication Platform

The Florida Department of Health is requesting vendor proposals for a cloud-based communication and logistics solution to support its Bureau of Emergency Medical Oversight.

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) is seeking vendor proposals for a multimodal communication platform.

The department is seeking "design and implementation of a cloud-based communication and logistics solution" specifically for its Bureau of Emergency Medical Oversight. DOH is aiming for the new solution to assist in communication and coordination of emergency response between various stakeholders, reducing the time between transit and treatment and improving patient outcomes.

Vendor requirements include:
  • Providing a turnkey cloud-based communication and patient logistics solution to address routine daily operations, time-sensitive emergencies, pandemic response, mass casualty incidents, mass gatherings, special events and natural disasters  
  • Providing a minimum of four application programming interface integrations for Common EMS Electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR) systems, hospital ePCR systems and state emergency status, planning and operation systems  
  • Providing an event-based communication and logistics solution that allows EMS agencies and hospitals to communicate in an ad hoc manner to manage time-sensitive patient care
