FDC Recruiting for Chief of Infrastructure and Operations

The role entails delivering computer services statewide, developing infrastructure technology service management, and providing hardware and software support for the Florida Department of Corrections.

The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is looking to hire a chief of infrastructure and operations.

To qualify for the position, the incumbent must have four or more years of technical work experience plus three or more years of experience supervising a technical team, according to the job posting.

As for specific duties and responsibilities, the prospective candidate would oversee the following:
  • Planning, directing, controlling and organizing the delivery of computer services on a statewide basis 
  • Organizing and supervising FDC’s infrastructure and operations to handle the development, maintenance and delivery of IT services 
  • Creating and deploying reporting, metrics and measures for staff and supported services 
  • Assisting with developing and managing service-level agreement values with business and IT leadership 
  • Assisting in further developing FDC’s infrastructure technology service management procedures 
In addition, the job posting states, “the position has five direct report management positions,” covering several areas, including networks, FDC’s service desk, telecommunications, server support and endpoint and mobile device management.
