The candidate would join the department’s Cyber Bureau, which investigates complex cyber crimes across the state, as part of its Electronic Surveillance Support Team.
As a network systems specialist, the role acts as a project manager and administrator for complex systems and networks and oversee all system designs, architecture, security and deployments.
Other job responsibilities include:
- Designing and deploying systems that support surveillance and cyber missions
- Designing and providing information security implementation strategies for the state’s law enforcement agencies
- Designing and configuring comprehensive network architectures and security procedures for undercover criminal investigations
- Advising management staff on technical strategies to employ during criminal investigations
- Coordinating training, acquiring technical equipment, identifying evidence collection solutions and assisting FDLE’s protective operations unit as it relates to technical issues
Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities include:
- Knowledge of Internet architecture, fundamental computer operations and telecommunications software and protocols
- Ability to provide technical assistance related to telecommunications systems
- Ability to plan, analyze and implement telecommunication systems
- Ability to maintain knowledge of current technology trends and techniques
