The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking vendors to provide comprehensive analysis of truck movements in Florida and nearby states.

The pre-RFP states the department is looking for detailed data and information to support projects that enhance truck performance effectiveness and adopt truck parking solutions.

According to the pre-RFP, FDOT’s mission is to “ensure a safe transportation system that supports mobility and economic growth.” Rising commercial vehicle traffic has created challenges with truck parking, leading some drivers to park unsafely.

To address these issues, FDOT conducts studies to gather data for identifying and recommending solutions for congestion and parking needs. This data will be used for analyses and shared with partners including nearby states.

The specific information requested from interested vendors includes:
  • Methodologies: Describe the methods used to collect and analyze truck parking data, including any technologies or software employed
  • Data Penetration Rate: Provide estimates of the penetration rate or sampling coverage of the captured truck data
  • Positional Accuracy: Detail the positional or referential accuracy of your data, expressed in inches or feet
  • Data Collection Frequency: Indicate whether data is collected continuously or at specific intervals
  • Data Management Plan: Outline your data management plan for the data collected by your sensors

More details about pre-RFP No. 10215 can be found online. The requested information must be submitted by 5 p.m. Oct. 18. The point of contact for this pre-RFP is Joel Worrell.
