According to the ITB, the platform will support local agencies in the agency’s fourth district, or “Treasure Coast region.”
The platform will be implemented in coordination with four signal-maintaining agencies (SMAs), including Indian River County, Martin County, Saint Lucie County and the city of Port Saint Lucie.
“All proposed solutions and devices must be compatible with the SMA’s existing infrastructure,” the ITB states. “In the case of upgrades or replacement of existing devices, efforts should be made to identify SMA’s preferred solution for compatibility and continued maintenance.”
The vendor must provide all hardware, software, installation, integration and support services to deploy and maintain base-level needs for the platform. This includes providing real-time signal optimization software for 16 intersections to analyze traffic patterns and dynamically adjust signal timing to optimize real-time traffic flows.
Other required devices and services include:
- Bluetooth with a CV-RSU element to collect travel time data through Bluetooth and includes connected vehicle roadside unit components
- A GPS time clock for Martin County to synchronize timekeeping across signal controllers
- A vehicle detection system to detect vehicle presence and movement for signal timing adjustments at seven intersections in Martin County, St. Lucie County and Indian River County
- Uninterrupted power supply to maintain system functionality during power disruptions installed at 10 traffic signal cabinets in Martin County and St. Lucie County
- A field modem device server and ongoing technical support and service for multidevice field modems
