The Department of Financial Services (DFS), which manages the financial responsibilities for the state of Florida, is looking to fill a director of application development position in Tallahassee.

According to the job posting No. 826976, the application development director will lead the application services team, providing vision and direction. This team supports DFS business lines and related systems.

Responsibilities include managing technical and support staff; collaborating with DFS stakeholders to implement technology solutions; and overseeing planning, implementation and programming of application systems.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:
  • Ten years of experience in applications support, software implementation, database and application development including web services
  • Five years managing IT projects and technical support staff
  • Five years of experience and knowledge of cloud computing technologies
  • Four years of experience in computer science, software engineering, IT, business administration or related field
