Florida Department of Revenue Recruiting for Senior IT Auditor

The chosen candidate will serve as the lead auditor on information technology audits and other management reviews, performance audits, and financial and compliance audits.

The Florida Department of Revenue, which oversees the state’s child support program, general tax administration and property tax, is looking to hire a senior IT auditor.

According to the job posting, the candidate will independently perform or act as the lead auditor on information technology audits, management reviews, performance audits and financial and compliance audits as required.

Meanwhile, other job responsibilities include directing junior internal audit section staff assigned to IT-related audits, researching best practices and standards for the IT industry to identify security issues with the agency’s IT systems and assisting in the review of data found by management from IT systems to help ensure the data’s accuracy.

As for specific on-the-job duties, the posting lists the following:

  • Maintain familiarity with ISO 20000 Standards and act as the lead on the agency’s ISO 20000 internal audit  
  • Assist the director of auditing and the inspector general with technical matters related to data processing systems  
  • Evaluate the adequacy of corrective actions taken to improve deficiency conditions identified in statutorily required department IT risk assessments  
  • Consult with supervisors and administrators on management information systems to identify potential approaches to reduce IT risks within the department  
  • Act as the office automation coordinator for the Office of Inspector General  

Minimum requirements for the role include having at least four years of professional experience conducting internal or external audits under applicable professional standards.

The hiring salary for the role is between $72,000 and $82,000, and the recruitment deadline is May 22.
