Florida Digital Service Recruiting for Cybersecurity Engineering Lead

The position reports to the agency’s cyber operations deputy and will lead the team responsible for the state’s Cybersecurity Operations Center.

The Florida Digital Service (FLDS) is looking to hire a cybersecurity engineering lead.

According to the job posting, the cybersecurity engineering lead oversees the team responsible for the state’s Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC), including “the deployment, administration, configuration and integration of all enterprise security solutions and systems.”

For context, the CSOC, which FLDS manages, is responsible for continuously monitoring state government systems for cyber threats, detecting incidents and responding to security breaches impacting state agencies and local governments.

As for specific job responsibilities, the duty statement lists the following:
  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards and regular reports to communicate department-specific cybersecurity risks and threats 
  • Design, implement and manage multiple enterprisewide security solutions to address cybersecurity 
  • Effectively communicate security vulnerabilities and assist with remediation efforts 
  • Participate in cybersecurity incident investigations and response activities  
  • Ensure quality delivery and timely execution of cybersecurity services, including policy exception management, vendor risk management, and compliance and risk assessments
