Florida Digital Service Recruiting for Senior Data Engineer

The Florida Digital Service (FLDS), which establishes standards and processes for assessing state agency cybersecurity risks, is looking to hire a senior data engineer to join its data management office.

According to the job posting, the chosen candidate would oversee all implementation and support efforts associated with FLDS’ enterprise data catalog, contribute to application programming interfaces and help agencies move to large-scale data clouds.

Additional job duties include:
  • Reviewing and cataloging data management practices at state agencies, including metadata, data dictionaries, policies, standards, platforms, objectives, interoperability and linkage 
  • Defining and implementing extract transform load jobs on a wide variety of data sources  
  • Building and maintaining dashboards that use business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Alteryx 
  • Writing programs, appropriating test artifacts, ad hoc queries and reports 
  • Employing contemporary software development techniques to ensure tests support automation 

Minimum qualifications include experience in software development or data management as well as six years of experience with technology projects or a bachelor's degree.
