Florida Gaming Control Commission Recruiting for App Development Manager

The role will lead and manage the team responsible for building and maintaining the agency’s enterprise solutions, and support the development and implementation of new applications.

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is looking to hire an application development manager.

The FGCC regulates legal gambling in the state, including licensed pari-mutuel wagering facilities, cardrooms and slot machine gaming facilities.

The commission’s job opening is for a manager to help support the agency’s business needs with applications, as well as develop the growing IT team of a relatively young government office.

Specific job duties include:
  • Leading and managing the team responsible for building and maintaining the FGCC’s enterprise solutions 
  • Collaborating with FGCC leadership to support and implement new applications  
  • Managing the development, updating and security of the FGCC’s website and team 
  • Supporting and developing the FGCC’s plans for implementing new applications or modifying current applications 
  • Forming relationships with vendors and guiding FGCC leadership in integrating new products 
The job posting lists the following minimum requirements:
  • Experience in application and web development or management of development or outsourced application projects 
  • Experience in project management, including the use of agile and waterfall methodologies 
  • Experience providing customer service 
  • Experience in providing quality assurance of services and creating continuous improvement plans 
The role will report directly to the agency’s CIO/CTO and work out of FGCC’s office in Tallahassee.

The yearly salary range for the role is $70,000-$82,000, and the application deadline is Oct. 14. Further details and requirements can be found in the job’s duty statement.
