Fort Lauderdale Recruiting for IT Digital and Data Division Manager

The position, which oversees the daily function of the division, will collaborate with various teams and vendors to manage, support and implement new initiatives and support existing solutions.

The city of Fort Lauderdale seeks to hire a division manager to oversee its IT Digital and Data Division.

“Under the direction of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department assistant director, the employee in this class is responsible for planning, budgeting, organizing, directing and coordinating the operations of the Digital and Data Division,” the job posting states.

Additional job responsibilities include:
  • Managing pillar budgets and preparing, revising, finalizing and submitting annual budget forecasts for the division  
  • Overseeing the installation, configuration and maintenance of software applications 
  • Exploring technology innovations and trends for institutional applicability 
  • Supporting application services professionals with vendor management, including contract negotiations, licensing, maintenance contracts and service-level agreements 
  • Preparing and presenting the division’s recommended budget to the department director, digital and data assistant director, Office of Management and Budget, the city’s Budget Advisory Board and city manager 
To qualify for the role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT or five or more years of professional experience managing professional IT services and software deployments
The following is preferred:
  • Experience managing an IT team of at least 20-30 individuals  
  • Experience using ERP Cloud, UKG Cloud and Infor CloudSuite 
  • Experience leading development teams at a managerial level 
  • Scrum and agile certifications are highly preferred
