Within Fort Pierce’s strategic plan for 2024-2029, the city has outlined several tech goals, including various system implementations, GIS initiatives, ERP system rollouts and data center enhancements.

The city partnered with Lyle Sumek Associates to prepare the plan after conducting strategic planning workshops in January and February. Based on this feedback, the city outlined the following tech goals for 2025-2029:
  • Facilitate online payment capabilities for all city fees and charges
  • Define next steps and funding to expand city services online
  • Seek vendor participation for ACH payments
  • Define the direction and actions needed to prepare for electric vehicle use

As for 2024, the city’s strategic plan lists the following status updates for tech-related projects:
  • ERP Phase II, III and IV rollouts: The city’s ERP (electronic record processing system) rollout for Phase II will focus on licenses, permits and fees, while Phase III will specifically focus on payroll, human resources, timekeeping and retirement. Phase IV is still being defined.
  • Software implementation: Currently listed as under implementation is parking enforcement software for mobile parking enforcement and “Building Tyler/Intergov software.”
  • Soon-to-be-completed projects: In this category, the city has highlighted several projects under “completion,” including records storage consolidation, enterprisewide call center builds, a legal office recordkeeping system modernization and Tyler/Munis EnerGov integration for business tax receipt processing.
  • Currently in the works: Other tech-related initiatives the city is working on include cybersecurity training, penetration testing, GIS initiatives for project maps, a citywide records file plan, a new work order system for Public Works, data center enhancements and HR records scanning.
