Indian River County Seeks Manager for Information Systems, Telecom

In this leadership role, the chosen candidate will provide operational support and help manage the county’s IT infrastructure and team members.

The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners is looking to hire an information systems and telecommunications manager.

According to the job posting, recently published by Fort Lauderdale Chief Information Officer Tamecka McKay on LinkedIn, “This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical expertise and a proven track record implementing and managing information technology solutions.”

The manager would provide operational support and help manage the county’s IT infrastructure and team members. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide management and oversight for the county’s IT infrastructure, systems and services 
  • Develop and manage the information systems and telecommunications (IS&T) division’s annual operating and capital expenditure budgets to ensure consistency with overall strategic objectives 
  • Establish, document and communicate technology-related goals and objectives to team members 
  • Define and document internal processes and procedures related to IS&T division staff duties and responsibilities 
  • Ensure compliance with governance, security and audit policies, procedures and best practices 

Minimum requirements for the role include having a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, at least 10 years of related work experience and at least three years of IT management experience.

The hiring salary for the role is between $95,462 and $143,210, and the recruitment is ongoing until the role is filled.
