The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) is searching for authorized vendors to perform a Spartan upgrade on the agency's current F6A+ bomb disposal robot, utilizing its existing chassis.

According to Bid No. XF-0382-24, the Spartan upgrade will improve the robot's manipulator arm, increase lift capacity, incorporate a palm camera and range finder, and switch to hot-swappable BB2590 batteries, eliminating mission interruptions for battery replacement.

The upgrade will include a thorough disassembly of the current F6A+ robot, involving an assessment and service or replacement of all lift and drive motors within the chassis. Only certified Remotec technicians, using authorized Remotec parts, should perform this task.

Other requirements include:
  • All work must be completed by Remotec certified technicians
  • All parts must be Remotec approved for the Spartan upgrade
  • Products that are Made in America are preferred, but not required

This project may be funded partly or in whole by the federal government.

More detailed information about Bid No. XF-0382-24, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online. Questions are due at 4 p.m. April 22. The deadline for solicitation submissions is 2 p.m. May 1. Responses must be in ink or typewritten. Olive W. Cohen is the point of contact.
