Kissimmee Utility Authority Seeking Electric Distribution Design Software

The utility authority is requesting information from qualified vendors for upgrading its GIS system from the Esri geometric model to the Esri Utility Network model, including acquiring and implementing compatible electric distribution design software.

The Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) is requesting information from qualified vendors for upgrading its GIS system from the Esri geometric model to the Esri Utility Network model expected to be released summer 2025.

According to the RFI, “KUA will write and issue an RFP for the acquisition and implementation of a new Electric Distribution Design Software System to deploy with the new Utility Network Model.”

Deployment options include on-premise, cloud or hybrid, with the ability to scale for large projects.

Other qualifications for the software are as follows:
  • Design visualization and conflict detection
  • Engineering analysis and rule-based validation
  • Field data integration and cost estimation
  • GIS integration and interoperability with CIM and MultiSpeak
  • Integration with third-party systems
More information about RFI No. 25-017-RM can be found online. Questions must be submitted by 2 p.m. Feb. 7 and proposals are due 2 p.m. Feb. 18.
