The Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) is seeking vendor information on upgrading its GIS system from Esri’s Geometric Network to Esri’s Utility Network model.

According to the authority’s Request for Information (RFI), KUA is preparing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to upgrade its GIS system. The RFP will be released this summer.

The authority has issued an RFI to obtain vendor feedback on the upgrade process to further define its upcoming RFP.

Some of the questions the authority seeks to answer via the RFI include:
  • What specific information about our existing GIS system is required to accurately quote the conversion to the Utility Network and ensure a complete and accurate scope of work?
  • What configuration requirements and optimizations do you recommend for integrating the solution with our existing SQL, VMware and Windows Server environment?
  • During migration, do you propose synchronizing data between the legacy system and the new Utility Network?
  • We require three environments: Testing, Production and Development. What resources (hardware, software, licensing, etc.) are needed to implement and maintain each environment?
  • How do you handle unmapped or legacy assets, such as substations, fiber and PV systems, to ensure these elements are included in the migration?
More information about RFI 25-021-RM can be found online. Vendor questions must be submitted by 2 p.m. on March 7, and proposals are due by 2 p.m. on March 11. Ramandeep Mann is the contact for this solicitation.
