Legislature Looks to Fill Two Information Systems Positions

The Florida Legislature is seeking candidates for senior-level information systems programmer and information systems engineer roles within the Office of Legislative Information Technology Services.

The Florida Legislature is recruiting for two senior-level information systems roles.

The first job opening is for a senior information systems programmer and analyst who primarily oversees hardware and software support, installation and troubleshooting, as well as technical design, installation, administration and support of Microsoft Windows Server platforms and associated networks.

Essential duties for the role include:
  • Coding and debugging new or existing systems 
  • Analyzing and correcting problems in existing systems  
  • Installing new systems and enhancements to existing systems 
  • Developing procedures for troubleshooting malfunctions in existing systems 
  • Conducting system testing

The second job opening is for a senior information systems engineer within the Office of Legislative Information Technology Services. According to the job posting, “this position requires software development expertise in a multi-tier architecture and distributed production environment.”

The potential candidate would also be responsible for defining, designing and coding documents and implementing application solutions in line with established architecture and interfaces.

Essential job duties include:
  • Researching, designing and developing .NET applications 
  • Consulting with business analysts and users in defining system specifications 
  • Documenting functional and technical design specifications from user requirements 
  • Developing accessible client-facing tools 
  • Developing, executing and reviewing unit test scripts
