Leon County School Board Allocates $13M for IT in FY24-25 Budget

The school board’s final approved budget outlines funds for various tech projects including software applications, computers, tablets and network equipment.

Leon County School Board listed $13.2 million for IT initiatives in its fiscal year 2024-25 final approved budget.

The budget includes the following:
  • $5.3 million for administrative technology services
  • $4.2 million for instructional media services
  • $3.3 million for instructional related technology
  • $367,000 for an additional hour of online instructional software support
Operating expenses will cover new equipment, hardware, software and enterprise systems to enhance digital instruction, including district-wide classroom IT purchases such as:
  • Tablets
  • Computers
  • Network equipment
  • Software applications for districtwide administration of enterprise resource software
  • Classroom furniture, equipment and instruments
Charter school capital spending for technology will include:
  • Computers and hardware
  • Operating system software necessary for the use of electronic and digital instructional content and resources
  • Enterprise resource software
