Manatee County Issues RFP for SCADA System Maintenance Services

The county is seeking proposals from vendors with experience in SCADA for programming, preventative maintenance and repair services for the county’s utility system.

Manatee County is requesting proposals from vendors for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system programming, maintenance and repair services, including all necessary equipment, labor and materials.

According to the RFP, vendors should “have experience in the water and wastewater industry and a proficient understanding of SCADA systems, network communications, computer and server systems, telemetry, electrical power, motor control, electrical safety and instrumentation.”

Additional expectations include:
  • Troubleshooting SCADA system architecture, networks, control cabinets, motor systems, lighting, grounding and diagrams
  • Diagnosing issues with telemetry units, PLCs, servers, and network and electrical components
  • Maintaining VPN access with the county’s IT department
