Miami-Dade County Corrections May Soon Seek Integrated Jail Management System

The county’s Corrections and Rehabilitation Department recently published a draft of the scope of services for a future competitive contract for a configurable and commercially available software solution for a comprehensive, integrated jail management system.

Miami-Dade County’s Corrections and Rehabilitation Department may soon seek a vendor to provide an integrated jail management system.

According to a draft solicitation document from the county, the department needs a turnkey Integrated Jail Management System including software licensing, customization, interface development, change management planning and execution, implementation services, training, maintenance and support.

By implementing and using the system, the department looks to meet the following goals:
  • Improve data integrity  
  • Improve data sharing between county departments, justice partners and third parties  
  • Modernize current processes  
  • Decrease repetitive work and data entry  
  • Streamline operations  
Also noted in the draft solicitation are the following strategic business objectives:
  • Reduce paper-based business processes  
  • Enhance the timeliness and availability of department information  
  • Improve the integrity and currency of data by improving cross-agency integration  
  • Increase the department’s ability to generate accurate and timeline reports  
  • Increase the ability to track and monitor the status of detainees and staff
