Miami-Dade County’s Information Technology Department (ITD) may soon seek information from vendors about SAS Analytics Pro software licenses, maintenance and support services.

According to a draft Request for Information (RFI) document from the county, the ITD application teams will use the SAS software to create reports and statistical data.

In general, all reports and statistical data aim to provide county customers with information required for daily business needs.

“The ITD application teams have implemented considerable resources and time in developing said reports for customers during the last 35 years, with a monetary investment of over $3.1 million,” the document reads.

So far, the county has more than 2,500 programs written and actively in use to support its customers via the highly customized SAS commercial off-the-shelf software.

Key tasks for vendors may include:
  • Data ingestion, statistical analysis, reporting automation and dashboard development for real-time insights
  • User training, system optimization and ongoing support to ensure efficient utilization and compliance with security protocols
  • Enhancing decision-making by leveraging scalable, high-performance analytics while maintaining data integrity, security and compliance with industry standards
  • Providing ITD access to all new releases, updates, bug fixes, security patches and other corrective codes
  • Adding, changing or deleting individual components or functionality in new releases of the software
