According to the draft solicitation document, the department plans to issue an invitation to bid (ITB) to acquire these services, noting that “this system will not interact with the Miami-Dade County network nor provide access to any internal systems or applications.”
A specific scope of work for the contract includes the following:
- An on-site survey: The chosen vendor must perform an on-site survey to assess customers’ needs and evaluate the feasibility of the proposed solution, including identifying optimal locations for access points and evaluating any potential challenges.
- Network design: Based on the on-site survey results, the vendor will design a network that meets the customers’ needs and determine the optimal placement of “D-Marks” and entry points into park facilities.
- Equipment, configuration and installation: The chosen vendor will then procure, configure and install all necessary equipment for the network.
- Final test: Once all equipment is installed and configured, the vendor will conduct final tests to ensure that the network works properly and meets the customer’s requirements, including testing connectivity and throughput of all equipment connected to the network.
- Ongoing support: The vendor will provide ongoing support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to ensure that the network continues to function reliably, monitor the network for any issues and resolve any outages or other problems.
- Vendor proposals must include the cost of any required permits or approvals from relevant authorities.
- The vendor must provide a network circuit to each park location with speeds varying per location, requiring a cost-effective way to scale bandwidth for increased network speeds as needed.
- Smart alerting with configurable multilevel configurations for warning alarms, critical and up and down situations must be included with the installation.
- Built-in tools must provide critical performance statistics on the network.
