Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department (PROS) will soon solicit vendor proposals to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for guests visiting county parks and open spaces.

According to a draft solicitation document from the department, this system will not interact with the county’s network or provide access to any internal systems or applications.

The scope of work for the contract includes:
  • An On-Site Survey: The chosen vendor must perform an on-site survey to assess the department’s needs and evaluate the feasibility of the proposed solution, including identifying optimal locations for access points and assess any potential challenges.
  • Network Design: Based on the results of the on-site survey, the vendor will design a network that meets the department’s needs and determine optimal entry points for park facilities.
  • Equipment, Configuration and Installation: The chosen vendor will then procure, configure and install all necessary equipment for the network.
  • Final Test: Once all equipment is installed and configured, the vendor will conduct final tests to ensure that the network is functioning correctly and meets the requirements.
  • Ongoing Support: Lastly, the vendor will provide ongoing support to ensure that the network continues to function reliably, monitor the network for any issues, and resolve any outages or other problems.
More detailed information about the future solicitation can be found online.
