Miami’s Department of Economic Innovation and Development has called for startups, innovators and builders to participate in its AI-powered Brickell digital twin project.

The project, launched on March 5 as a partnership between the department, Dell Technologies and NVIDIA, aims to create “Miami’s AI-driven urban metaverse — a real-time, intelligent and evolving model of the city that will drive smarter planning, faster innovation and more resilient urban growth,” according to a press release from the city.

The department recently expanded the digital twin’s boundaries to cover 10.5 square miles across the city, including north of Brickell Avenue to I-195 or NW 36th Street, east of I-95.

Now, the department is looking to expand its partnerships by launching a form to gauge startups, innovators and builders’ interest in joining the project.

Noted in the form are various questions, including the following:
  • Is your solution powered by proprietary intellectual property or protected by a patent or patent-pending status?
  • What stage best describes the development of your solution?
  • Is your company currently based in Miami or planning to establish operations here?
  • What stage of fundraising best describes your company?
  • Is your company currently raising capital?
More information about the project and the form can be found online.
