Miami Replaces CIO With Interim

Gee Ming Chow has been replaced with an interim department leader who has extensive IT experience including project and resource management and has worked for the city of Miami for more than 22 years.

Gee Ming Chow has been replaced as chief information officer for the city of Miami with an interim leader, Arturo Duque.

Industry Insider — Florida confirmed with the Miami Department of Innovation and Technology that Duque started in the position on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

According to Duque’s Linkedin profile, he has been working for the city of Miami for more than 22 years as an Oracle ERP manager and IT project manager. Before working for the city, Duque held IT positions at Banco De Occidente, Johnson & Johnson and AXA Equitable.

Duque has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the City College of New York and a Master of Business Administration from Pace University — Lubin School of Business.

Miami city representatives did not respond to questions about previous CIO Chow and his departure before deadline. Chow served as CIO since 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.
