Osceola County’s 2025 Budget Includes $22M for IT

The county’s fiscal year 2025 adopted budget funds licensing costs for upgrading outdated audiovisual equipment, lifetime maintenance of computer equipment and purchases of various software applications and computer hardware.

Osceola County, which includes cities such as Kissimmee, St. Cloud, and Poinciana, has allocated $22 million for IT in its adopted fiscal year 2025 budget.

The budget totals $2.9 billion, with its new fiscal year starting Oct. 1.

The county allocated $22.1 million to its IT budget. Operating expenses include maintaining existing county applications, licensing costs for upgrading outdated audiovisual equipment, lifetime maintenance of computer equipment and purchases of various software applications and computer hardware.

Other notable IT funding includes $2.2 million for the county’s court technology fund, which addresses technology requests from the county’s Public Defender, State Attorney, and Court Administration offices.

According to county budget documents, court technology funding will support replacing computer equipment, including laptops, monitors, scanners and servers for a courtroom audio upgrade in FY25.
