The city of Oviedo has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for vendors to recommend and implement an asset management software solution.
According to the RFQ, the city aims to optimize efficiency in asset tracking and bolster decision-making processes by implementing a comprehensive asset management solution that can be integrated with its existing GIS environment.
For example, one way the city would use this new solution is to monitor its potable water, stormwater and roadways and maintain assets for its wastewater collection system.
As for specific vendor requirements, the RFQ asks for the completion of a comprehensive assessment of the city’s current asset management practices related to inventory, maintenance schedules, life cycle tracking and data management protocols. Based on this assessment, the vendor will recommend an appropriate asset management solution that aligns with industry best practices and meets the city’s specific needs.
Other vendor requirements include providing software customization, data migration, ongoing technical support and conducting knowledge transfer sessions for city staff to ensure they know how to use and maintain the new system.
More information about RFQ No. 24-28 can be found online. Questions are due Oct. 8 at 5 p.m., and vendor proposals are due Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. The point of contact for this solicitation is Jacqueta Scott.
