Budget: The 2024 budget bill appropriated $2.2 billion total for the city, with an estimated IT budget of $40 million.

Leadership: Mayor Jane Castor, a Tampa native, is the city's 59th mayor. She is a 31-year veteran of the Tampa Police Department. In October 2009, Castor became the first woman to be named Tampa police chief, serving for six years in that role.

Tampa has a diverse range of attractions, from waterside cafes, Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium and Channelside shopping. Sports fans support the Buccaneers, Devil Rays and Lightning. As for technology, the city has budgeted approximately $40 million. Some of the top IT projects include:
  • $6.3 million for the capital improvement program, consisting of over 300 developments across 17 departments.
  • $4.5 million has been identified for ongoing projects and upgrades including a customer service center; Kronos, OnBase; citywide backup data center upgrades; and public safety communications system equipment.
  • $1.8 million for the Tampa Police Data Mart Revamp and the replacement of the current ticket management system (FootPrints).
