Two state agencies are recruiting for a systems specialist and information security analyst roles.

The Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Freeway Management Systems (FMS)/Arterial Management Systems (AMS) specialist. The chosen candidate would be responsible for the following:
  • Leading a network architecture team on large cross-functional application projects 
  • Ensuring that robust and scalable solutions are implemented using a variety of internal and external data sources 
  • Providing system architectural guidance and oversight for quality assurance on all new code impacting integration, staging and production environments 
  • Providing hands-on system security, including managing secure access to peers and outside partners 
  • Evaluating and making recommendations relating to the application of new technology to support the department’s FMS/AMS programs 

Minimum qualifications for the role include a high school diploma and four years of engineering experience, intelligent transportation system experience, traffic signal experience or relevant employment experience developing or administering contracts relating to IT systems.

Other accepted qualifications include an associate of arts or science degree in engineering technology or a similar area of study and two years of applicable employment experience or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in engineering, computer science or engineering technology, as well as one year of relevant employment experience.

The Florida Department of Revenue is seeking an incident response and recovery information security analyst to join the department’s Tallahassee-based information security team.

The chosen candidate will report to the department’s manager and focus on creating plans and procedures to safeguard information systems.

Other duties include developing strategies, communicating security goals, monitoring progress, participating in risk assessments, addressing audit findings and collaborating with other IT teams.

“Success requires experience in both information security and emergency management, as you’ll develop plans for various situations and ensure compliance with regulations and frameworks,” the job posting states.

Minimum requirements for the role include:
  • Six years or more of cybersecurity, technology analysis or emergency management work with responsibilities to plan for or respond to operational or cybersecurity disruptions 
  • Experience in emergency preparedness, emergency management, experience performing computer security incident response duties or cybersecurity analysis work 
  • Experience with 60GG-2 Florida Administrative Code, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and NIST SP 800-53 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office’s suite of tools
