State CISO Jeremy Rodgers to Step Down, Join Private Sector

After three years of serving as Florida’s chief information security officer, Jeremy Rodgers has accepted a new position in the private sector.

Jeremy Rodgers, the state’s chief information security officer, is stepping down from his role with the Florida Digital Service to join the private sector.

A Florida Department of Management Services spokesperson confirmed Rodgers’ departure to Industry Insider — Florida via email.

Rodgers first joined the Florida Digital Service on Jan. 5, 2022, bringing years of military and private-sector experience to the role. Before working in state government, Rodgers served as a commanding officer, executive officer, chief of targets, ops mission lead, cyber team lead and information warfare officer for the U.S. Navy.

Before that, he held several private- and public-sector positions, including working for IBM as a federal and public security architect, a worldwide i2 enterprise solution architect, a technical lead for security innovations, a software architect, a technical team lead and a software engineer.

He also served as a deputy mayor for the city of Boca Raton from 2015 to 2021, after working as a software engineer for Computer Task Group for two years.

He holds a bachelor’s, master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University.
