Tamarac Seeks Bids for $720K Citywide Security System Upgrade

The second phase of the upgrade will require the chosen vendor to provide fiber and network cabling, as well as replace and install security cameras, card readers and other equipment.

The city of Tamarac is seeking professional services, labor, equipment and materials from a qualified vendor to complete the second phase of its citywide security system upgrade.

According to a request for qualifications (RFQ) from the city, its “security system upgrades have been multi-phased, consisting of multiple, separate though related and integrated projects.”

For phase two of the city’s security system upgrade, the RFQ lists the following vendor responsibilities:
  • Installing and replacing video surveillance cameras 
  • Installing fiber-optic cabling to remote exterior video surveillance cameras 
  • Installing new card readers 
  • Installing and configuring equipment in the city’s security system software, such as reader panels and I/O modules 

Vendors will also be tasked with providing “professional services, labor, equipment, materials, insurance, obtaining all applicable permits, necessary supervision and incidentals to complete the project.”

The project’s total estimated cost is $720,000.

Important dates for vendors include a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting on April 18, followed by an April 25 due date to submit all questions. All RFQ proposals are due at 3 p.m. May 2.
