Tampa Recruiting for Senior Applications Programmer

The role would entail performing technical programming and systems analysis and designing, developing, testing and implementing data processing systems, programs and procedures.

The city of Tampa is recruiting for a senior applications programmer to join its Technology and Innovation Department.

According to the job posting, “An employee in this class is responsible for performing a variety of technical computer programming and systems analysis tasks” and coordinating and monitoring the work of technical project team members in completing specified assignments.

Specific job duties include:

  • Developing and modifying applications, systems and processes  
  • Participating in training sessions and assisting in preparing and delivering user training programs 
  • Analyzing problems, implementing solutions and consulting with functional team members, users and technical project team members on technical questions 
  • Conducting cost/benefit analyses and technical research  
  • Assisting with technical system designs 

Also noted in the job posting are the following preferred qualifications and skills:

  • Working knowledge of production enterprise applications support 
  • An understanding of the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP application suite 
  • Experience with OpenGov Budgeting, Performance Metrics and eProcurement modules 
  • Additional Oracle EBS experience is a plus 

Minimum job requirements for the role include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and three years of experience in computer programming or systems analysis.
