Tracking the Spend: Department of Management Services Spent $24M on IT Services in Q1

During the first quarter, the department acquired goods and services from Insight Public Sector Inc., Alltech Consulting Inc., InterfaceSERVICES Inc. and several other providers.

The Department of Management Services is responsible for facilitating workforce and business-related operations for other state agencies as well as current and past state employees.

The department spent $24 million on IT services in the first quarter this year, $22.3 million of which went to five vendors between Jan. 1 and March 31.

Here are those IT-related purchases, rounded up, based on data from the Florida Accountability Contract Tracking System:
  • $21 million to Insight Public Sector Inc., a company that specializes in providing cybersecurity software products and services
  • $454,760 to Alltech Consulting Inc., a firm that focuses on making projects more efficient through the means of modernizing applications
  • $390,288 to InterfaceSERVICES Inc., a flooring provider that specializes in modular carpet tiles, broadloom and other flooring
  • $223,512 to Honeywell International Inc., a tech corporation that manufactures a range of products, including aerospace and automotive components and industrial control systems, specialty chemicals and engineered materials
  • $215,394 to Oracle Elevator Company, an elevator service company with tech resources to maintain elevators and lifts
Regarding specific purchases, the department spent about $18 million on cloud-based software, $2 million on license management software, $1 million on closed circuit television installation services, $454,760 on IT consultation services and $243,374 on elevator maintenance services.
