During a Florida House of Representatives IT Budget and Policy Subcommittee meeting, committee chair Rep. John Snyder shared that future technology funding recommendations will prioritize project completion over expansion and put a more critical eye toward cybersecurity spending.
The Florida House of Representatives IT Budget and Policy Subcommittee hearing on Feb. 20 focused on several agencies’ cloud modernization plans, IT-related Legislative Budget Requests and a review of three initial phase projects.
During a recent Florida City and County Management Association webinar, several government and industry experts discussed how city and county managers can advocate for project funding to state legislators.
So far, lawmakers have submitted tech-related bills focused on cybersecurity incident liability, digital trusts, governing body meetings, business transactions and implementing a body camera pilot program.
The members-only event will feature the CIO of the Department of Environmental Protection and the former CIO of the Florida House of Representatives.
